Envelopes

Regular Commercial Envelopes: The Most Commonly used envelope is the regular envelope.  The different types include:

  • Side seam
  • Diagonal seam
  • Commercial Flap
  • Monarch Flap
  • Square Flap

Windows Envelopes : a typical use of a windows envelope is in mailing a statement in which the addressee’s name is viewed through the opening of the envelope. The most common sizes include:

  • #6 3/4 – (3 5/8 x 6 1/2) (diagonal seam, commercial flap)
  • #9 – (3 7/8 x 8 7/8) (diagonal seam, commercial flap)
  • #10 – – (4 1/8 x 9 1/2) (diagonal seam, commercial flap)

Baronial Envelopes: The baronial is an announcement envelope manufactured from a special papetrie paper.  The most common sizes include:

  • 5 1/2 Baronial – (4 3/8 x 5 3/4)
  • 6 Baronial – (4 3/4 x 6 1/2)

A-Style Square Flap Envelopes: A-Style envelopes are used with announcements, small booklets, promotional pieces, etc.  The most common sizes include:

  • A2 – (4 3/8 x 5 3/4)
  • A6 – (4 3/4 x 6 1/2)
  • A7 – (5 1/4 x 7 1/4)

Remittance Envelopes: A collection envelope with a large printing surface, ideal for mail order and general remittance applications.  the most common sizes include:

  • #6 3/4 – (3 5/8 x 6 1/2)
  • #9 – (3 7/8 x 8 7/8)

Two-Way mailer envelopes: A company may provide information on the perforated flap to serve as a receipt or as to provide information back to the company who mailed it.  The perforated flap can be torn and placed back in the envelope to reply.  The most common sizes include:

  • #6 1/2 – (3 1/2 x 6 1/4)
